They will both hit stores on November 6, 2007 during the heart of the 2007 NFL season. Order due date for both is October 2, 2007.
“There are not too many teams in NFL history that have enjoyed as much success as the Chicago Bears did in the 1985 season, and we’re thrilled to give the fans what they have been asking for: twelve of the complete broadcast games from that year, including the full playoff and Super Bowl win over New England,” said Eddie Scannell, WHV Director of Sports Marketing. “For the Bills, the comeback win over Houston is a great moment for that franchise, and still the greatest comeback in NFL history. To see it on DVD is to know that your team is never out, the game isn’t over ‘til it’s over.”
1985 Chicago Bears
There has been no team in history quite like the 1985 Chicago Bears. Teams entered Soldier Field in fear and often left with the feeling of defeat. Each week the Bears dominated opponents – simply mashed them – until, gratefully, the final whistle blew. It was that kind of season. On offense, the Bears would slam Walter Payton at you until you broke and then they’d go long to speedster Willie Gault down the sideline. On defense – it was an avalanche of navy blue. Speed from the outside with Wilber Marshall and Richard Dent and strength in the middle with Mike Singletary and William “The Refrigerator” Perry. Nowhere to run … nowhere to hide.
For the first time, 12 original network television broadcasts from the Bears’ 1985 season are available in this exclusive box set. Witness the Bears dismantling the Dallas Cowboys, see their lone loss in a Monday Night Football classic, and enjoy the Bears’ incredible post-season run – where they showed dominance that had never been seen before or since. The 1985 Chicago Bears - one of the greatest seasons in NFL history – yours to own on DVD.
Buffalo Bills vs. Houston Oilers – January 3, 1993
The Houston Oilers led the Buffalo Bills 35-3 with 13:15 to go in the 3rd quarter of the 1992 AFC Divisional playoffs. The Oilers were flawless, the Bills moribund. 35-3. Game over. Done. Or so everyone thought. It was the single greatest comeback in NFL history – perhaps the greatest game ever played. And now, for the first time, the original network broadcast is yours. Watch for yourself as Warren Moon executed the run-and-shoot offense to perfection in the first half, only to have everything unravel in the second. Witness the heroics of backup quarterback Frank Reich, who led the Bills back, bit by bit, to the game’s thrilling conclusion.
