“King Kong” DVDs From Warner Home Video

(January 30, 2006 - Burbank, CA) – On March 28, Warner Home Video will offer the original 1933 RKO classic film "King Kong" as a single-disc DVD to supplement the "Two-Disc Special Edition" and "Two-Disc Collector's Editions" already available. "King Kong" is the studio’s most requested title. It made its long-awaited DVD debut in November 2005 and has quickly sold nearly a million and half DVD units. Now consumers who are interested in the feature film itself, without the addition of extra content, will have the option of owning the highly-praised Warner restoration of the original "King Kong" at $14.97 SRP. For collectors, "King Kong Collection," including "King Kong Two-Disc Special Edition" in the special keepsake, "Son of Kong" and "Mighty Joe Young," also becomes available as a boxed set, offered at $49.92 SRP. Orders for both are due February 21. Still available are "The King Kong Two-Disc Special Edition" DVD for $26.99 SRP/$19.95 MAP and the "Collector’s Edition" which was released in a collectible keepsake tin with a 20-page reproduction of the original 1933 souvenir program, "King Kong" original one-sheet reproduction postcards and a mail-in offer for a reproduction of a vintage theatrical poster for $39.98 SRP.
